Cast me on Great American Baking Show
Hi, I'm Mike Wessler
If you're a panicked casting producer who forgot to renew your domain, read on, but rest easy, I'll give you the domain back.

If you're a panicked casting producer who forgot to renew your domain, read on, but rest easy, I'll give you the domain back.
My name is Mike Wessler. I'm a home baker who you should pick to be on the next season of the Great American Baking Show.
I've been baking since 2020 (very cliché). I started baking when I made my husband a boxed cake for his birthday, early in the pandemic. I enjoyed it and wanted to see if I could do more.
Since then, baking has become one of my real passions. I try to bake at least once a week. Cakes are my favorite thing to make, but I'm increasingly appreciating the commitment and patience that yeasted doughs require.
One of the things I enjoy most about baking is the learning process. Whether the bake turns out amazing or is a disaster, you learn and are a better baker afterwards. I love reading, and regularly have various baking cookbooks strewn about the house that I'm referencing not only to look at recipes, but also to learn about technique, ingredients, and process. Sift by Nicola Lamb has rarely left my side over the last few months.
I'm 41 years old. I currently live in New York City (but am in the process of moving to Louisville, Kentucky). I live with my husband, Wade, and our two dogs, Marcel and Pixel.
I'm an avid reader, flailing runner, and aspiring traveler.
I am the communications director for a nonprofit organization and work remotely from my home.
I'm originally from Florida, but over the last twenty years have lived in Montana, Massachusetts, New York, and soon Kentucky.

This is my niece, Ryan. She also loves baking. We don't see each other as often as I'd like (it's a big part of why I'm moving to Kentucky), but whenever we do, we make sure to bake something together. This is the first-ever lemon meringue pie we made together. She was pretty excited to use the torch.

Last year, while traveling in Paris for my tenth anniversary, I met a baking icon, Dorie Greenspan. On our first day there, I popped into a patisserie, and there she was. I lost all sense of cool and broke every rule of seeing celebrities. I introduced myself, and she was delightful. We're now Instagram friends.

After making the boxed cake I mentioned above, the first thing I baked that didn't come from a box was these oat muffins. Honestly, they weren't bad. I was incredibly proud when they came out (and more importantly, hooked on baking).
Now you know a bit more about me, both as a person and as a baker. I also hope that me buying your domain shows the type of playful menace energy that I bring to most aspects of my life. It would make for some pretty great TV.
I've never applied for a reality TV show before, so I don't know the process. But imagine that getting your attention is an important step toward getting through the first round of selections. I hope I've gotten your attention.
As I said at the beginning, I'm happy to give your website back to you. I didn't purchase this domain for any other reason but to introduce myself and ensure I stood out from the crowd when you start to sift through applications. To get it back, just follow me on Instagram and send me a direct message, and we can coordinate.
